Scooch on iPhone Duo: Room Planning on the Folding iPhone

A floor plan wants room. Open iPhone Duo and Scooch spreads a whole flat across the 7.6-inch inner screen, with the furniture and measurements beside it, and nothing important sitting in the fold.

Open: the whole flat at once

On a regular iPhone you zoom and pan to get from the bedroom to the hallway. On the Duo's inner screen the plan has space to breathe: whole rooms stay readable while you drag a sofa into place, and the measurements stay on screen. The selection inspector floats at the bottom right, by your thumb, instead of covering the room you are working on.

Half open, like a book

Stand the Duo half open on a table and the screen has a crease down the middle. Scooch keeps its panels off it: the inspector moves to the right of the fold, so no button or number ever sits in the bend.

Closed: the Scooch you know

Fold it shut and the 5.4-inch outer screen runs Scooch like any iPhone, with the toolbar in the Duo's side column, within reach of your thumb. Type in the hallway's width with the Duo closed, then open it on the sofa to see whether the new wardrobe fits.
